We’re now part of the Cycle to Work scheme, which is open to UK employees.

It allows you to buy a new bike (or equipment) with a tax advantage, and pay for it in monthly interest free repayments, over a period of up to 3 years. Alternatively, you can also rent a bike via them. The have a comparison between the two options here.

We use the provider Cyclescheme, and you can buy a bike from any of their shops  listed on their website. They got a really good coverage in London, and quite a few online retailers as well.

The initial payment is done by Bonnet, and we’ll deduct a monthly sum via a salary sacrifice. This means that you agree to give up part of your salary in exchange for the bike.

The salary sacrifice is taken from your gross salary (before tax), so you’ll pay less Income Tax and National insurance. You can calculate potential savings here.

Note that if you leave Bonnet, you will need to pay the remaining balance as one final payment.

Process:

• If you’re interested in buying/renting a bike, use the link above.
• Once you’ve chosen the right bike for you, you’ll need to request a certificate. To do so, you’ll need your payroll number (which you can find on your payslip, or you can ask Eltje). You’ll need to carefully read all documents and then submit your request.
• Your request will be send to Eltje for approval.
• Bonnet will then pay the invoice and you’ll get an eCertificate with a 'Redemption Code'. With these details you can collect or order your bike via your chosen retailer.
